From Tinder to Forever

photo

Clay and I matched on Tinder in December 2023 and had our first date January 6th, 2024. Both of us felt the immediate comfort with each other and had our second date a week later. Then Clay stood me up three times and I thought he was over me. (He moved and was working overtime so he was literally just asleep.)

Luckily, I was insanely head over heels and gave Clay another chance. Clay cooked a steak dinner for an early Valentine's dinner on Super Bowl Sunday and it was allllllllll over for me. I left for a work trip and panicked the entire week I was gone that we had never had the exclusivity conversation. Once I was home, we had a beautiful date planned and I blurted out "Are you seeing other people?" in the middle of dinner. But that was that, I never looked back.

Clayton has been the kindest and most wonderful addition to my life. I will forever be grateful for this random right swipe on Tinder that led me to my husband. He is the ying to my yang and my better half. I cannot wait to spend this precious day with everyone.

I'll never be able to thank Tinder enough for bringing Hannah and me together. I had already accepted I might never get married or find my person, but then Hannah appeared, and my preconceived plans to stay single came crashing down.

In the past, it was hard to find someone I enjoyed seeing for more than three hours without having the overwhelming thought of "I'd rather be doing something else." Now that thought is replaced with "How in the hell is this beautiful woman not sick and tired of me yet?"

The weeks leading up to the proposal were some of the most stressful in my life. This stress was magnified tenfold when the day finally arrived, and I somehow had to spend an entire day without spoiling the surprise or breaking down into a full panic attack. I planned to take her to Japanese Palace, where we had our first date. Hannah could feel something was up and decided to ask, "Did you take me to the place we had our first date to ask me something?" I had to think of something quick and decided to gaslight her into thinking I had forgotten where we were. Needless to say, despite my poor attempt to be inconspicuous, the plan still worked, and now you get to celebrate us!

I can't wait to marry my best friend, and I am excited to share this special night with all of our family and friends.
