I've known of Ian since 2012ish. I used to go to shows he would be at or playing at. Nothing ever happened back in the day shoot I don’t even know if he knew me except the fact, I was the weird girl with a pink shaved head, but in 2018 I saw him again at work in our cafeteria. I knew; I knew who he was but he didn't have any social media at the time so I couldn't confirm it. I saw him a few more times around the office and I made sure he saw me. 6 months later he popped up on my people you may know and i was right I did know who he was. I immediately sent him a follow request and then started of course just liking things he posted. I loved the fact he was a dad too. Some time went by and he sent me a message! (just asking an HR question but hey, it worked) We casually talked here and there and i just knew there was something about him. We saw each other out one night ( i was wearing an overall dress and not looking to good [so I thought] and I told myself when I saw him I had to leave before he saw me...) but then we locked eyes. And then I basically invited myself to a place he was going, and we now deem that place our first date and our spot and we haven't been apart since. We've been talking about marriage all year long and he finally popped the question at our first date spot and here we are now! So, he popped the question at the society garden which was where our first date was. He had this planned for MONTHS. Even asked my dad if he could marry me! He has all my friends in on it and they knew for months too. Obviously, they can keep a secret. We went here on a Saturday after my best friend’s bridal shower and when I came out from the restroom, he was standing there by the fireplace and everyone else had moved out of the rain. So, I’m like walking over to him like babe it’s raining let’s go where everyone else is and he told me to put my son down. Grabbed my hand and then it hit me, he’s asking me to marry him!! I’m crying he’s crying. Of course, I said yea! But before I did, I said “what kinda stupid question is that?!” I’m so happy all my friends witnessed this special moment. And hello my rock is MORE than what I envisioned! Can’t wait to marry my best friend.
