Hannah and Rick met by fate when they were seniors in undergrad. There's pretty much no other way to explain it.

They were both in the education program their fall semester at Penn State. Their first class ended up starting an hour late, but because Hannah didn't get the email from the professor (she had only been added to the class the day before), and because Rick never read the email, they were the only two people to show up to class early. While waiting for everyone else to show up, they discovered that they had all but one class together for the rest of the year. Hannah also learned that she didn't particularly care for Rick; he seemed like a cocky goofball. Unfortunately for her, they ended up assigned to every single project together, including their student teaching school placement. They literally had to share a supply closet.

The more they hung out, studied, and lesson planned together, the more they started to like each other. Not to mention they figured out just how many connections they had in common.

- One of Rick's best friends dated Hannah's roommate

- They lived at the same apartment complex and more than likely road the bus together multiple times

- Hannah had a friend from Penn State Altoona that was also friends with Rick

- Rick was jam session buddies with one of Hannah's high school ex boyfriends

- Rick worked at the calzone shop where Hannah's sorority held fundraisers

(I think you get the point...)

After months of being forced by the University to work together, they found themselves working together by choice. Finally, one late night planning session turned into a proposition for a cheddar biscuit date to Red Lobster.

After Rick's graduation in May of 2018, he moved to Baltimore and they dated long distance for 6 months until Hannah graduated and moved to live with him. It was there that they both started their teaching careers, fell in love with the city, and established their lives together.

In their favorite spot in the city on July 23rd, 2021, Rick proposed to Hannah with the help of their younger siblings.
