Our wedding's dress code is formal, but we want to ensure everyone feels comfortable and stylish without feeling like they need to go all out. Think dressy, but not overly formal - so no need for tuxedos. We envision guests dressed elegantly in suits or cocktail dresses, striking a balance between sophisticated and relaxed. We can't wait to celebrate with you in style!
Will your wedding be indoors or outdoors?
Our ceremony will be outside on a stone patio, weather-permitting. In case of inclement weather, we will move the ceremony inside the venue.
We will have signage near the ceremony space to help direct you to where you need to go :)
Is there parking available near your wedding venue?
Yes, Oakhurst has plenty of free parking available close to the ceremony space.
What is the address of your ceremony/reception venue? Are they wheelchair accessible?
Both the ceremony and reception are at Oakhurst Golf & Country Club. Their address is: 7000 Oakhurst Ln, City of the Village of Clarkston, MI 48348
The venue is very wheelchair friendly, with ramps and elevators to those who need them traveling from the ceremony to cocktail hour and then to the reception.
What is the easiest way to get to Oakhurst?
Honestly, we're both very directionally challenged, so any advice we give you might get you lost. However, punching the address/venue into Google Maps or Apple Maps have yielded excellent results for everyone we know who has tried previously.
For our out-of-town guests staying with us at The Crowne Plaza in Auburn Hills, we will be having a dedicated shuttle going to and from the venue/hotel throughout the evening.
What is the weather going to be like?
We wish we knew! Early October in Michigan is pretty unpredictable, varying from 70 and sunny to 50 and overcast. Please join us in obsessing about the weather a week before the ceremony and cross your fingers for good weather - and maybe pack a sweater in case you get chilly. :)
Am I allowed to bring my children?
Although we love your little ones, this is an adult only celebration.
I have other questions!!
Please reach out to either one of us if you have any additional questions :)
