OUR STORY:

How We Met

Saw and Hannah met at Craig Hospital. Saw had been working there as a CNA for five years, while Hannah was just beginning her career as a newly graduated nurse. Saw says he was drawn to her the moment he heard her voice, and when he looked into her eyes, he knew. That same night, he asked her to go for a walk during a break, and they felt an instant connection.

Saw was impressed by Hannah from the start, and Hannah quickly fell for Saw’s kind heart and steady, masculine presence. From the beginning, it felt easy and right. While their connection was immediate, both Saw and Hannah would say it’s their shared vision for the future — and the life they’re building together — that has kept their relationship strong through everything.

Our First Date

Saw and Hannah don’t completely agree on when their first date actually happened. Hannah believes it was that very first 40-minute walk they took together at work — a simple night filled with laughter, shared interests, and even a spontaneous game of basketball. To her, that walk felt like the true beginning of their love story.

Or maybe it was the second walk, when they shared their first kiss and Saw officially asked Hannah out — what he would call their real first date. Saw planned what he considered the perfect evening, picking Hannah up and taking her to a Colorado Rockies game. It was an unforgettable night, and the start of the incredible journey they would begin together.

Milestones: Significant Moments

When He Knew

Saw knew Hannah was the one the day she tried to cook him a dish from his homeland—something tied deeply to his childhood and full of meaning. She went to three different stores to track down the right ingredients and spent two careful hours cooking. In the end, the dish was… not great. Saw jokes that it was “barely edible.” But what mattered wasn’t how it tasted—it was the love and intention behind it. The effort, the thoughtfulness, and her desire to connect with his roots meant everything to him, and that gesture stayed with him long after the plates were cleared. In that moment, Saw knew he wanted to spend forever with Hannah and that she was the person he wanted to marry.

When She Knew

Hannah knew Saw was the one when he shared that after finishing his undergraduate degree at CU Denver, he might want to leave Colorado for school. Without hesitation, Hannah told him she would want to go with him — because building a life together, wherever it led, felt right to her. Saw immediately embraced the idea and responded with the same openness and commitment. In that moment, Hannah knew he was ready to go the distance with her, and she knew just as clearly that she wanted to spend her forever with Saw.

Milestones: Challenges

Moving In Together

Let’s be honest — moving in together for the first time isn’t always easy. Hannah and Saw both had to learn how to share their space and adjust to each other’s routines and quirks. It took patience, compromise, and more than a few changes along the way. While it wasn’t effortless, they would both agree that those growing pains taught them how to communicate, respect one another, and work through challenges as a team. Because of that, they’ve come out stronger, more connected, and more sure of their partnership than ever.

Saw's Year Of Nursing Boot Camp

Anyone who has been through an accelerated nursing program—or has loved someone who has—knows that calling it “boot camp” isn’t an exaggeration. It’s an intense, exhausting, and emotionally demanding year. Taking it on is a huge commitment, and standing beside someone as their main support is just as challenging in its own way.

Both Hannah and Saw truly believe they wouldn’t have made it through that year without each other. Saw is deeply grateful to always have Hannah in his corner, steady and encouraging. And Hannah loves watching Saw put in the work, push through the hard days, and reach his goals—knowing that the path to something meaningful isn’t always smooth, but always worth it.

Milestones: Special Experiences

Niagara Falls

One of Saw and Hannah’s most meaningful shared experiences was their trip to Niagara Falls. Visiting such an iconic and powerful place for the first time together made it even more special. Standing side by side, they were both struck by the sheer beauty and force of the falls, taking in the moment and appreciating the chance to experience something so unforgettable together.

What made the trip even more meaningful was not just the destination, but the fact that it was something they shared—laughing, exploring, and creating memories that would stay with them long after they returned home. It was one of those moments that reminded them how much joy they find in experiencing the world together. One day, they hope to return and share that same sense of wonder with their children, passing along the memories and creating new ones as a family.

Vegas

Another special memory for Hannah and Saw was a trip to Las Vegas with their closest friends. It was Saw’s first time there, and getting to experience the city through his eyes made the trip even more fun. From sharing laughs to taking in all the excitement together, it was a trip filled with great memories and good company.

What made it truly special was being surrounded by people they love while creating moments they’ll always look back on fondly. It was one of those trips that reminded them how meaningful shared experiences can be, and they hope to take many more adventures with their friends in the years to come.

Our Staycations

One day, Hannah was feeling a little restless, and Saw realized it had been far too long since they’d gone on a proper date. So he came up with a simple but thoughtful plan: book a local hotel (one with a bathtub, obviously), order room service, and spend the night sipping champagne in the tub. What started as a spontaneous idea turned into one of their best date nights ever—truly epic.

After that night, staycations became a small but meaningful tradition for them. They’ve since enjoyed a couple more, each one just as fun in its own way. It’s a silly, simple tradition, but it perfectly reflects their relationship—finding joy in the little things, making time for each other, and turning ordinary moments into something special.

Driving Across The Country (Twice!)

To make their move from Colorado to Massachusetts happen, Saw and Hannah packed up and drove clear across the country—twice. The first trip was to get Saw’s car out east and lock down an apartment a few months before nursing school began. As anyone can imagine, a cross-country drive together comes with both literal and metaphorical bumps in the road, along with plenty of unexpected shenanigans. From an unforgettable gas station stop in upstate New York, to some of the best hot dogs and soft-serve ice cream in Syracuse (thanks, Kellishes!), to the the ridiculous attempts to back up and park the U-Haul trailer, the trip was full of moments they’ll never forget. It was exhausting, chaotic, and wonderful all at once—and just a month later, they turned around and did it all again to officially move in and start the next chapter together.

Holidays

Growing up in Southern Asia, Saw had never really celebrated American holidays until he met Hannah. For Hannah, the holidays had always been a meaningful part of her life—a time centered around family, tradition, and being together. Through Hannah and her family, Saw experienced his first traditional Thanksgiving meal and his first Hoffman family Christmas, complete with the familiar rituals and traditions Hannah had grown up loving. He cherished being welcomed so fully into these moments and appreciated the sense of connection and belonging they brought. In turn, Hannah loved seeing these holidays through Saw’s eyes for the first time, noticing the little details anew and being reminded of just how special those traditions truly were.

The Proposal

Hannah didn’t try very hard to hide that she was ready for the next chapter—she dropped more than a few not-so-subtle hints that an engagement was on her heart. Saw noticed, and more importantly, he listened. He knew how much it meant to Hannah that this moment be shared with the people who know her best and love her most: her family. So, during their trip home to Colorado for Christmas, Saw carefully planned the proposal.

Hannah had a feeling it might happen on that trip, but as the days passed and the trip neared its end, her excitement slowly turned into quiet disappointment. Then, on Christmas Day, after the last present under the tree had been opened, Saw smiled and said there was one more gift. In the warmth of Hannah’s childhood home, surrounded by love, laughter, and family, Saw asked her to be his wife.

Hannah was overwhelmed by how thoughtful and intentional the moment was. It felt perfectly them. Saying yes was effortless—the easiest and most joyful yes she has ever said.

A look Into The Future

It’s impossible to know exactly what life will look like for Hannah and Saw ten years from now, but one thing feels certain: it will be built on love. The details may change, and the path may twist in unexpected ways, but the heart of their future is something they already share.

There are a few things they know for sure. Saw will finish school and earn his doctorate in Nursing, a goal he has worked tirelessly toward and one Hannah has supported every step of the way. When that chapter comes to a close, they both agree that Massachusetts won’t be their forever home. Where they land next will depend on where life leads them—where their families are, where meaningful career opportunities take shape, and where they can build a life that feels safe, supportive, and full of possibility.

They often talk about the kind of home they hope to create—one in a neighborhood with good schools, strong community, and room for the family they dream of growing. Both Hannah and Saw have always wanted children, and they plan to begin that journey not long after their wedding day, excited and hopeful about welcoming little ones of their own.

No matter where the years take them or what the future holds, Hannah and Saw are deeply excited for what’s ahead. They look forward to building a life side by side—one filled with love, laughter, hard work, and the quiet, beautiful moments that make it all worthwhile.
