We were in Mexico for Adam's 30th birthday. We had just gotten back from a late dinner at our resort. Earlier that day we walked into this little fishing village near by and went on a snorkeling excursion. After dinner we came back to the room and I hopped right into bed and had no interest when he suggested we go for a beach walk and check out the ocean at night. So we started walking down the beach toward this romantic pier with a cabana/hut at the end of it. We talked about how beautiful the stars looked and we pointed out a couple constellations. Then all of a sudden Adam started to message my shoulders and was saying really sweet things. I turned towards him and could feel his heart beating underneath his shirt. He asked me to turn around and not to look. My heart started pounding and when he asked me to turn back around he was down on one knee asking me to marry him! I became teary eyed and obviously said yes! Then I started freaking out and asked if my parents knew. He said just his Dad and my Dad knew. (He asked my Dad over Christmas.) For about 10 minutes we stood there going through different emotions of happiness. Afterwards we walked to the beach bar and grabbed a Mai Tai and laid inside a cabana to let it all sink in.
