Our Story--Hannah's POV

Our story is one of God's faithfulness and perfect timing. It is no secret that we were coworkers for several years, just passing each other in the hallways occasionally but truly never really knowing each other. The December before we connected, Max came to experience freedom through Jesus Christ which changed everything about his life. That following March, a little bit of friendly competition was sparked through a school-wide game of rock, paper, scissors where we ended up being the final two winners. After that, it was like a lightbulb switch moment, and we were noticing each other so much. After seeing Max pray and minister over a facebook live at his church, I ended up reaching out to encourage his boldness in his faith walk. What I didn't know at the time was that Max had just been praying and telling God he was ready for what's next. After that, we started talking non-stop, and I kept asking the Lord to show me more of Max's heart if we were supposed to be together. Finally after months of getting to know each other and a beach trip that left us both thinking, "Do they want to be just friends?", my impatient self asked Max if this was ever going to turn into something more. He asked me on a date that summer, and it became very evident that the Lord had brought us together. We continued dating through lots of travel, including mission trips to Africa, Honduras, and Western NC where the Lord taught us more about trusting Him and learning to be intentional in different ways. We journaled back and forth and prayed expectantly for the Lord to show us next steps on these trips, and began taking steps towards marriage like reading books such as "You and Me Forever" and "Love and Respect". In November, on Max's birthday, he asked my dad for his blessing to marry me, and from that point on I became an extra large impatient pain in Max's butt. We spent such a sweet holiday season together with our families and friends and kept praying towards the future. Max epically surprised me on January 12th at a lunch with some of my besties and Mike and Ginger (our sweet Honduran missionaries) by proposing and I of course said YES (about 5 times actually)! We are so excited for this next chapter of our story, and we can't wait to celebrate with you!
