Sam and Hannah met during their freshman year of college in a music practice room, both having shown up to offer piano accompaniment for a hymn sing organized by one of their mutual friends, Tim Chao. Out of this hymn sing endeavor emerged a friend group in which Sam and Hannah found themselves getting to know each other quite well. It soon became evident that Sam would debate anything just to get a rise out of Hannah, and Hannah would argue right back, especially if it meant being able to tell Sam he was wrong.After a year of close friendship Sam asked Hannah out to ice cream, and they went on their first date March 25, 2024. The relationship thrived despite Sam wrecking his sleep schedule over building a race car, and Hannah being shipped all over Virginia for nursing school clinicals during the school year. They grew still closer through their time away for summer internships, during Sam's summer classes and Hannah's night shifts at the hospital.On August 12, 2025, almost a year and a half after they started dating, they returned to the ice cream shop where they had their first date and Sam proposed to her in the Thomas Jefferson Tulip Poplar Forest.Sam and Hannah love each other dearly, and happily look forward to a life spent together honoring the Lord!

Think a little nicer than "Sunday Best": sports coats and long dresses (NO JEANS). Florals and springtime vibes very much welcome. To avoid matching bridesmaids, colors to stay away from would include blush pink, light yellow, and sage green (however patterned dresses with these colors would be welcome). Areas are paved so ladies do not need to worry about heels.
