As Felt Mansion was built in the 1920s, the theme of our wedding is Art Deco/Art Nouveau. If you feel inspired, we encourage you to dress on theme! (Completely optional).

PARKING AT THE FELT ESTATE

Parking is available on-site at The Felt Estate. You may leave your car here overnight, but it must be off the grounds by 10am on Saturday 9/13.

UBERS & ALTERNATIVE TRANSPORTATION

Uber is historically unreliable in Saugatuck. There is a <a href="https://www.saugatuckinterurban.org/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">local bus service</a> that's door-to-door: give them a call and they will pick you up at your address and take you anywhere in the Saugatuck/Douglas/Holland area.

Getting here

Saugatuck is a ~2.5 hour drive from Chicago via I-94E and I-196N. Take the Saugatuck/Douglas exit and turn right on Blue Star Highway. There is also an <a href="https://www.amtrak.com/tickets/departure.html" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Amtrak</a> train from Chicago Union Station to Holland that takes about ~3 hrs.

Getting Around Town

<a href="https://www.saugatuckinterurban.org/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">InterUrban Transit Authority: </a> Saugatuck’s on demand curb-to-curb transit service that will take you wherever you need to go around the Saugatuck Douglas area. Call the number and they will arrive within 15 minutes. $1 for adults, $0.50 for seniors. Monday - Friday 7am - 6pm&nbsp;Saturday 9am - 6pmSunday 9am - 4pm

Getting to the Felt Estate

Felt Mansion is located ~5-10 minutes from downtown Saugatuck. Ubers are available but not very reliable. Parking is free at the Felt Estate and you are welcome to leave your car overnight and take the shuttle home. All cars must be off the Felt Estate grounds by 10am on Saturday 9/13. The Venue

THE FELT ESTATE

Originally built in 1925 and completed in 1928, The Felt Estate was built by Dorr E. Felt, a self-made millionaire made famous by his invention of the Comptometer. Felt was drawn to the pristine beauty of west Michigan’s coastline. He decided to establish an estate where he, his wife Agnes, their four daughters and their families, could summer. In 1925, Dorr started construction on Felt Mansion, affectionately known as “Agnes’ House”. Taking three years to build, Mr. Felt paid attention to every detail, creating a magnificent home that continues to impress people today. Sadly, in August 1928, only 6 weeks after the family moved into the home, Agnes passed away, and Dorr joined her a year and a half later. Today, the mansion is used year round for private and public events. The Felt Estate is a non-profit organization, and our wedding helps to support the ongoing restoration and preservation of the mansion.
