Shay and Hannah were both born and raised in the Grand Valley. Though they did not meet until later into their twenties, it seemed that fate had always destined them to cross paths. As natives of the area, their families had known each other for generations. They also shared a large number of mutual friends before meeting.
When Shay saw Hannah from across the bar at Ale House, he knew that he wanted to take her on a date. After some persistence, many Facebook messages, and a few shot-down invitations, Hannah finally agreed to meet Shay and a few of his friends for some casual afternoon beers. The afternoon slowly melted into evening dinner, then a nightcap with a different group of friends, and it has been history since then!
Hannah and Shay have shared many adventures (hello, Thailand vacation!), many sorrows (the passing of close loved ones), some stress (covid lockdown) and many joys and firsts (like buying a home and sharing their first engagement experience with one another). They have taken on many hobbies together, including soccer, volleyball, bowling, and golf. They built their intellectual relationship around many nights of trivia, and they enjoy deep discussions on a regular basis.
Throughout the years, their love has blossomed and deepened, and Shay decided to take the leap. He'd proposed to Hannah in a surprise engagement photo session, and the pair have been happily planning their nuptials over the past year.
Hannah and Shay hold true to the values of being steadfast, loyal, forgiving, good-humored and resolute. They choose to love and honor each other every day, and are thrilled to bring these traits into their marriage. They are also looking forward to building a family together.
Thank you for celebrating "Starr" day with Hannah and Shay!
