In the beginning of 2023, we were both searching for love in the most desperate of all places... online. There was a new app that had just been launched, for people who lean more towards conservative politics. Since politics are very important to us, we both saw this app as an opportunity to find someone with the same values, so we both dowloaded The Right Stuff app. I (Hannah) had already tried all the other dating apps and had been on plenty of bad dates. Tristan, on the other hand, was a novice to the world of online dating. After only being on the app for a few weeks, we matched. From the start, I (Hannah) was excited to chat with Tristan. He was engaging in conversation and planned a date only after a few days of talking. On March 17th we met up in downtown Fort Worth at my favorite coffee shop. Coffee turned into a long walk and then the walk turned into dinner. I didn't want the date to end. Tristan was like a breath of fresh air. Not only did he make me feel important and respected, he made me laugh. After the date we decided to meet up the following week and have been inseparable since. Although he never officially asked, I calculated that we became offically, boyfriend and girlfriend in May of 2023. Dating Tristan has been so much fun, we connect not just in our values but now in our shared faith and love of God.
Over Christmas, we decided to visit Tristan's family in Chicago. I had given up the idea that he might propose on Christmas and wasn't expecting anything. After we opened presents with his family, he called me to the front of the living room, FaceTimed my family in, and then dropped to his knee asked me to marry him. I was in total shock, so between the tears, I mumbled out a, "yes!" I can't with to share our lives together, forever! He is such a blessing to me and I am praying that together we can live a life that honors God.
