Who would have thought that a simple favor (and miscommunication) during a shift together would lead us to where we are today..
Jake and I worked together at The Local in downtown San Diego. If you know anything about downtown, you know that yellow zones after 6 are a luxury. I was just getting off and Jake decided to ask the new girl, me, to move his car to a spot out front for him. I agreed and asked where he parked. He tossed me his keys and said “the Ace lot just up the street”. This was only about my second week working downtown and being from a small town up north, “Ace” usually meant a hardware store. So I mapped my way to the Ace hardware store, roughly 6 blocks away. Long story short, he didn’t park at the hardware store, he parked at the Ace parking lot a half a block up from work.
Jake and I quickly became friends and realized how much we have in common. We were both born in the same town and had a love for music, the beach, adventure and baseball (Go Giants). We spent our first summer together going to every baseball game, music concert, festival, and cowboy star happy hour our work schedules would allot. We both agree it was the best summer ever and we will always cherish those memories. We welcomed our baby girl, Olivia, into our lives in November of 2022 - she is our greatest blessing and adventure yet. We moved from San Diego to Lodi to be close to family, but our hearts will always be in San Diego. Given the role that San Diego plays in our relationship and story and all the wonderful friends that have turned family to us, we couldn’t think of a more perfect spot to begin our marriage. Each of you reading this has had such an impact on Jake and I and we cannot wait to celebrate with you all! We love you
