Brandon and I met on January 6, 2023. I had been home for Christmas break and Brandon had just graduated that winter. We had met through our mutual friend Eddie, where I had known through Bible study and Brandon had met through Campus Crusades at UCCS. Both of us were not seeking out a relationship, but that being said the Lord had other plans in store. At the time, I had to go back to Nashville to continue nursing school and Brandon was still living in Colorado. We spent about four months getting to know one other from 1,000 miles apart. We did not think it was possible to even get to know one another at such a distance, but of course we soon found out that handwritten letters, boxes sent with our favorite things, and long phone calls would make it possible. Although it was hard, we realized that this time built a foundation of trust and love for another that would guide our relationship. Later that year in April, we made it official and began to date just before Brandon moved to Georgia for the military. We closed the distance by a few states, but continued to do a six hour long distance for another year and half while I was finishing up nursing school and working. On December 26, 2024 Brandon asked me to marry him in Colorado with both of our families together. Looking back, it is so easy to see how God had his hand on our love story. We hope that he will continue to bless and guide us through our marriage. We are so excited for this next chapter of our lives and to be surrounded and supported by our loved ones during this time.
