Our Wedding

The Big Day

3pm: Ceremony starts. Please aim to arrive 30 minutes before for welcome and refreshments. Dinner will not be served until 7pm so please have some lunch beforehand if you need! 3:45pm: Vin d'Honneur in the chateau courtyard. Drinks and canapes will be served. 7:30pm: Dinner in the barn. 9pm: Cake is served. 10pm: First dance and the evening begins! Midnight-5am: carriages.

The Day After

After the main event, we'd love to invite you back to the château for a barbecue and a chilled afternoon by the pool. Please bring your swimwear if you'd like a dip to clear your head! The barbecue will begin at midday, and will finish at 4pm.

Flights

If you are planning on flying to France, there are three airports in proximity of the château that you can fly to: 1. Bordeaux AirportBordeaux is the largest international airport in the region, and is just under 2 hours from the venue, through stunning French countryside. 2. Limoges AirportLimoges is the closest airport to the venue, at just over 1 hour away. 3. Bergerac AirportBergerac is a beautiful old town, with an airport an hour and 15 minutes from the venue. Please be aware that some airlines are yet to release their flight schedules for Summer 2024 (e.g. Ryanair), these usually become available 6 months before departure.

Due to the venue's rural nature, we would strongly recommend that you hire a car for the weekend. It is much cheaper than an airport transfer, and gives you an opportunity to explore all that the region has to offer. If you do fancy a road trip from England, you can get the ferry from Portsmouth to St Malo, or the Eurotunnel from Dover to Calais.

Train

The nearest train station to the venue is la gare de Négrondes, which connects to both Bordeaux (via Perigueux) and Limoges.

Getting to and from the chateau

The venue has more than enough space for everyone to park their cars. At the end of the night, shuttle transportation will be available to take you back to your hotels/gites. The shuttle will run from midnight up until 5am, and will drop off at any hotel/gite in the surrounding areas - Thiviers, Sorges and Négrondes. From midnight, the shuttle will run north/south trips to take people home, returning to the chateau in between trips. The first trip will be at midnight and will go south to Sorges, followed by a trip north to Thiviers at 12:30/12:45. Trips will run roughly every 30-45 minutes.

Travel

The shuttle organised for the end of the night (midnight until 5am) will be able to take you to all the places listed below (Negrondes, Thiviers, Sorges and Eyzerac), and anywhere that's en route. We would recommend booking accommodation in these locations so as to avoid having to rely on taxis (which are scarce in the area).

Thiviers

Thiviers is a 10-minute drive from the venue. Sorges

Sorges is lovely little village, renowned for its truffles, a 10-minute drive from the venue. - <a href="https://www.auberge-de-la-truffe.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Hotel de la Truffe</a>: Lovely hotel in the truffle capital Sorges with a great restaurant to try the local specialties.- <a href="https://www.location-gites-dordogne-perigord.com/en" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Le Domaine des Bories</a>: 20 holiday homes near Sorges accommodation 2-17 people. 17-minute drive to the venue.- <a href="http://sorges.unblog.fr/2010/07/03/accueil/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"> Gites les Michaux</a>: A house for 6 people just outside of Sorges owned by a “trufficulteur” (truffle farmer) – 10 min drive from Château Lagut.

Eyzerac

On-site Glamping & Camping

There is a large field on the château site with glamping pods that are available to be booked, as well as space for campers and tents. If you are interested in booking either a glamping pod or space in the field, please let us know.

Accommodation

Your presence at our big day is the greatest gift you could give us, and we are just happy that you can join us in celebrating. Wedding Gifts

How should we get to the area?We would strongly recommend hiring a car. There are some trains that travel through the area but public transport is fairly limited so having your own car will help you get around.&nbsp;Taxi services are very limited. Where are the ceremony and reception taking place?The ceremony, cocktail hour and reception will be held on-site at the Château Lagut. Most of the ceremony and cocktail will take place outside and therefore, please be mindful that you may be walking on grass and that stilettos shoes may not be appropriate.&nbsp; How do we get there?&nbsp;There is more than enough parking for everybody on site for when you arrive. At the end of the night, a shuttle will take you back to your accommodation if you're staying in Thiviers, Sorges, Eyzerac and anywhere en route. What time should I arrive?&nbsp;The ceremony will start at 3pm. Please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the ceremony to park and enjoy a refreshment. Can I bring a guest/date?&nbsp;We are doing our best to accommodate the ones we love. We have addressed the invitations to all those who are invited and due to limited space, we are only able to accommodate those invited.&nbsp; Can we bring our children?We love kids, we really do! But due to limited space, we have decided to keep our wedding and reception an adults-only event. We would love for you to have a night off, but we don’t want kids to stop you from coming, so please let us know if it will be an issue. Can we take photos?&nbsp;Please take as many photos and videos as you would like! However, we ask that during the ceremony you try not to get your cameras/phones out - we would like to see everyone's faces in the official photos! Keep an eye out for the QR codes posted at the reception so you can share all your photos &amp; videos with us afterwards.&nbsp; When is the RSVP deadline?The RSVP deadline has passed, thank you for confirming your presence! If you can no longer make it, please let us know as soon as you can. What is the dress code? There's no formal dress code, we want you to be comfortable and appreciate it may be hot!
