Our love story begins where all great loves stories of our time begin - a dating app. Hannah and Chris had both matched and chatted back and forth a bit on Hinge, but alas, Hannah got frustrated and deleted the app off her phone for the millionth time.
A month or two after initially chatting, Chris and Hannah both found themselves watching the OSU vs. Penn State game at a trusty campus bar called Out-R-Inn in October of 2015. Hannah noticed from across the bar the guy that she talked to a few months ago on Hinge, and pointed him out to her friend (and now one of her maids of Honor), Christina. "I'm going to go talk to him and tell him you're here!", Christina yelled over hundreds of screaming OSU fans. A few minutes later, Chris found himself climbing over picnic tables to make his way across the bar to Hannah.
After a great conversation (and a few beers), Hannah excused herself to the ladies' room. However, they never found their way back to each other in the crowded college bar and both went on their separate ways that evening.
A few months later, Chris and Hannah both found themselves walking down opposite sides of an aisle of a Target, when they made eye contact. Hannah was quick to avoid the post-bar conversation and bolted to another aisle filled with things she didn’t need (but would buy regardless). Given the fact that Chris did not have her phone number, his only method of contact was either Instagram or LinkedIn. After much thought, Chris decided a professional connection request on LinkedIn wasn’t appropriate and went with Instagram. He searched and found Hannah's account and messaged her "This is random, but were you at Target today?". Unsure if she should respond to this man, it was again Christina to the rescue, who convinced her to message him back and give him a shot.
They agreed that their meeting deserved a 'do-over' and met for brunch at Lindey's soon after. 5 years, two houses, and two fur babies later, Chris popped the question in the backyard of their German Village home. Today, they are both so thankful for serendipity and for good friends that helped them get to where they are now.
