Our Story

Our Story

Hey guys, Josh here to give y'all a glimpse of our story.

Hannah and I met way back in 1st Grade when we were in the same Sunday school class. That’s right, we’ve known each other for a LONG time - and you could even claim that we’ve known each other longer. When my mom was in college, she was friends with Hannah’s dad. They went to the same church, and she would even give him rides to small group, talk about a small world!

Even though we’ve known each other since we were 6, our relationship didn't move beyond acquaintances for a long time. If you ask either one of us, we actually could not tell you the time or the reason that we started becoming closer friends. All we know is, sometime towards the end of our Junior year of high school we knew we liked each other.

While on a mission trip that summer (lol) I decided I wanted to date her, so after a week of mustering up courage (and a little nudge - thanks Sarah) I very clumsily asked Hannah to go on a date. That started what has been the best, most fun, and most fulfilling relationship with anyone that I have ever had.

When it was time to go to college, I chose Texas and she chose Texas A&M. I can't lie, dating each other from a distance has not been the easiest thing, but boy has it been worth it. Though we were apart, Hannah was thoughtful, pursued me, and kept me engaged by educating me on how to take pictures (has to be vertical for Instagram), her love of all things the color pink, random biology stuff that I don’t care about but she has to know for her degree, and most importantly: how well she loves me and how incredible of a partner she will be to me.

A proposal wasn’t much of a surprise (those aggies get wedding fever pretty heavy), as we had been together for almost 4 years and graduating was approaching. When I asked her to go on a walk while she still had church clothes on, she knew what was going on. Through tears of joy and shakes of excitement, she said “Yes!” while most of her friends said, “It’s about time!”

After we are married, we will be going to Dallas so Hannah can go to PT school, while growing with one another, glorifying God, and living a goofy, fun, adventurous, Christ-filled life together :)
