FAQs

What is the dress code?

Formal attire, for men: formal dark suit, for women: formal full length, midi (mid-calf) dress, or formal jumpsuit is appropriate. Can't wait to see how beautiful you look! We kindly ask you to avoid any colors such as white, cream or ivory, as these are reserved for the bride!

What is the weather like on Jekyll Island in December?

Generally, December in Jekyll Island will be slightly on the colder side, with an average temperature of around 60 - 64°F during the day, and low of 46°F at night. During this month the air is quite dry. The climate is typical of a semi-tropical location, so expect evening breezes and the occasional rain shower. Sunrise: 7:11 am Sunset: 5:23 pm

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Our wedding is hybrid indoor and outdoor. The Ceremony and Cocktail Hour will be outside in the Sunken Garden and Front Lawn. Dinner will be in the covered Crane Cottage Courtyard and the Reception will be indoors in the Crane Cottage.

Can I bring a guest/children not noted on my invitation?

We have addressed both our Save-the-Dates and our invitations to those formally invited to our wedding. If you have received a plus one, it will be indicated on your envelope! As much as we love your little ones, we will not be including them in our intimate ceremony or dinner. Below are sitters recommended by Jekyll Island Hotel for onsite care. Thank you for your understanding! Onsite Babysitters: Kendra Williams - 912-506-5071 (kendraewilliams@gmail.com) Debbie Taylor - 912-222-3747 (debbie@sittersbytheshore.com)

Is it okay to take pictures with our phones and cameras during the wedding?

We've hired a fantastic photographer who will be capturing our day. For our ceremony we ask that you leave your phone off and put away. However for the reception you can take pictures, just flash off please!

Is there a toll to enter Jekyll Island?

Because it is a protected park, Jekyll Island charges an $8 toll/State Park fee per vehicle, per entry, per day. Once you enter the island, you do not have to pay the fee again unless you leave and come back on a different day. ***The entrance to Jekyll Island has a tollbooth that can cause traffic bottlenecks and travel delays. We recommend that guests driving to Jekyll for the ceremony keep the tollbooth traffic in mind. We will begin the ceremony promptly at 4:30 pm.

Where should I park?

Parking is abundant at Jekyll Island Club. If staying onsite, you will be directed to the best parking area for your stay. If you are only coming for the night, there is parking right beside the Jekyll Island Chapel that is about a 2 - 3 minute walk to Crane Cottage.

Whom should I contact with questions?
