Hannah and Alex met while attending the University of Alabama in Huntsville. They met in line at one of the Week of Welcome events during Alex's senior year of undergrad and Hannah's junior year.

On their first date, Hannah would trip and fall coming back from getting ice cream at Handel's. Alex then said that she fell for him that night.

On April 11th, 2026, they took a day trip to Chattanooga where he found a perfect spot and asked her to marry him.
