Before our love story began in 2018, Matt and I already knew each other. We are both from the same hometown in Gastonia, North Carolina. We went to the same middle school and high school. Matt was a full-time athlete with a busy schedule on the field and wrestling mat while I was occupied at the theater rehearsing for musicals and choir concerts.

Fast forward years down the road after college, we reconnected on social media in September of 2018. We started chatting, and I "suggested" to Matt that we should get dinner and drinks sometime. We decided to meet in Plaza Midwood to have dinner at Soul Gastrolounge and explore different bars. During our outing, sparks were immediately flying! Obviously, our dinner went really well because look at where we are now!
