The Story

Kiera and I met at a graduation party for a mutual friend in the summer of 2014. We didn't speak much at the party but kept crossing paths during the summer Strength & Conditioning program at North Zulch High School. After working out, we would play a few games of basketball with the others in the program. One day after the games were winding down, I thought it would be casual to ask the beautiful girl who played guard for her number - because I only wanted it so we could play more basketball of course! Little did I know that she would get my number from someone else and text me first! We quickly realized that we really liked each other! We went through the second half of high school side by side.

After graduation, getting used to the new normal of our lives as college students was different and tough at times. School stress, jobs, extracurriculars, and a long distance relationship gradually wore us down. During our sophomore year, we grew apart after having grown together for so much time and I broke it off with Kiera. She'll tell you that the following year was so challenging without each other and I agree with her. We'll both tell you that while painful, it was necessary for us to break up. Lucky for us, God had a plan that eventually came to light.

I was still at Texas A&M University and in the fall of 2018, Kiera transferred in. We kept crossing paths on campus! That December, I asked her out and she accepted! We talked over everything and realized life was better together. Ironically, we started dating again a week before I left for my study abroad semester in London, UK. We communicated with Facetime and letters but this time, the distance didn't erode our relationship! Both of us had grown quite a bit in the past year.

When I came back from London, we had more time together than we had before. Our relationship deepened and we made many new memories in the rest of our time at Texas A&M. Various internships, jobs, new classes, football and basketball games, time on the farm, and dates were shared together.

In the summer of 2020, I was working in San Antonio and I realized that our time in school was ending and life after Texas A&M was calling. I knew that I wanted Kiera Jean beside me so I wanted to ask her if she would want the same. I designed a ring and tried to keep it a secret from Kiera. Somehow, she didn't find out and on August 17th, I asked her to marry me. She was stunned so I started to get nervous. I then asked her hopefully: "Do you want to be my wife?" Kiera quickly said: "YES!"

In the meantime, we graduated from Texas A&M University in December 2020 and we have continued planning our wedding since then. We are so excited to get to share a future together!
