The happy couple met in college at the University of Nebraska at Kearney. The two shared the same biology lab where a mutual friend was able to share Harper's number with Joshua. They hit it off right away and started seeing each other outside of class. The day they started officially dating is up for debate. Josh's plan was to ask her out on Valentine's Day but Harper (without knowing his plan) talked him out of that after she expressed her opinion on anniversaries being on holidays. They celebrate their anniversary on February 19th. Three years and three months later, Joshua popped the question. Joshua had planned to take Harper out to one of their favorite restaurants to celebrate her upcoming birthday. Harper had a suspicion that something might happen so she took extra time getting ready for the date. Josh wanted to take her on a nice walk after dinner to one of his favorite scenic views where Harper's suspicions grew. After a while, she noticed Josh getting nervous, which he never does. She may have even seen what looked like a ring box in his pocket. When he finally got down on one knee Harper was so overjoyed that she forgot to give him an answer to his important question, but eventually did give him a "YES!" The next day they shared their exciting news with friends and family as they celebrated Harper's birthday as well as their new engagement.
