On the 10th of April 2010, Jake was on holiday in Dubai and Harriet was invited to a waterpark for the day by her friend Summer. It was here at the gates of Wild Wadi Waterpark that their romance began.

The Summer of 2011 was the year Jake and Harriet went on their first holiday together, you guessed it, they holidayed in Portugal.

The first seven years of their relationship was spent in different countries. Harriet was in school in Dubai, followed by University in Liverpool, while Jake finished his education in the UK and spent the next eighteen months out in New Zealand at flight school. During this time they saved every penny they could to spend on flights, trains and petrol to see one another.

This was the year they rented their first apartment together and could see each other on a near daily basis!

In 2019 the couple bought their first apartment, a place they could make their own and call home. They were living near Gatwick airport, Jakes new base with easyJet and and an easy commute for Harriets new job with Virgin Atlantic.

Jake got his job with Virgin Atlantic this year and the pair were able to continue traveling the world together.

The year they travelled to and fell in love with Lisbon (and pastel de natas). But more importantly, this was the year Jake FINALLY popped the question. While holidaying on the Amalfi Coast, sat on a private terrace at sunset, Jake got down on one knee and obviously Harriet said yes!

2024 might have been the biggest year for the couple so far! Jake accepted his dream job with Emirates, based in Dubai, so they sold their home, packed up everything they owned and moved to Dubai in the September. Just before they left, not having time to plan and arrange the destination wedding they had always spoken of, they had a London city wedding at the Marylebone town hall with their immediate family. An intimate celebration of their love and a beautiful farewell as they embarked on their next adventure.
