Head to St. John’s Chaldean Catholic Church, Jenelle and Harrison’s home parish, for your weekly mass obligation. Fr. Ankido is a monk-priest and leads the monastery at the church, he is also a good personal friend of Harrison and Jenelle’s so spend some time with him and the monks for mass. And don’t worry if you can’t attend one of St. John’s services, other Chaldean churches in the area include St. Peter, St. Michael, and St. Joseph. The “Mass Times” app is also a great tool that has plenty of other Catholic services that you can choose from to fulfill your Sunday obligation. God bless!

Coronado Island is Jenelle’s favorite place in San Diego! Spend some time on a rental bike (Wheel Fun Rentals located near Swaddee Thai restaurant or Hollands Bikes and Beyond) and ride around the island. Visit Bay Books, see the Hotel Del, and walk along the beach.

Visit La Jolla and Torrey pines for a hike, fun day on the beach, and head up to Mt. Soledad for an incredible view.

Spend a day with the marine life at Sea World!

Head to Little Italy and check out downtown San Diego. There are plenty of great Italian restaurants and there is a Farmer’s Market on Saturday morning in Little Italy that you can enjoy as well. In downtown, you can visit a rooftop bar (Altitude Sky Lounge or others), see Petco Park where the San Diego Padres play, or visit the Top Gun bar where the piano scene in the first movie was filmed.

Spend a day in La Jolla! You can go kayaking with baby sea lions, visit the Cave Store, see La Jolla Cove, go to downtown La Jolla to shop the boutiques and grab a bite (Harumama is a great sushi and ramen spot, and there are plenty of other great places nearby if sushi and ramen aren’t your thing), and stop by some of the coffee shops in the area as well (Parakeet coffee and Bird Rock are two of our favorites)!

Disneyland and California Adventure are about 2 hours north of San Diego. There are other theme parks like Universal Studios, Lego Land, and Six Flags just a few short hours away if you’d like to spend some time there while in Southern California.
