Attire
We are celebrating with both a Mehndi and a Walima on back-to-back days, each with its own style and energy.
Mehndi (Party) = bright, bold, colorful
Walima (Wedding) = elegant, formal, refined
Many guests choose to wear traditional Pakistani attire — you are warmly invited to join in if you wish, but there is absolutely no pressure.
~1. Mehndi Attire (Festive & Colorful)
The Mehndi is bright, lively, and full of dancing — so bring the color!
Think bold yellows, marigolds, oranges, pinks, and greens, with playful details and fabrics made for movement.
Women:
*Shalwar Kameez: A long tunic paired with loose or fitted pants
*Lehenga: A long skirt with a matching blouse
*Gharara: Dramatic, flared pants worn with a coordinating top
*A dupatta: (long decorative scarf) completes the look. Traditionally included with the outfit, it can be used to cover the head during prayer and is otherwise styled as an elegant accessory.
Men:
*Kurta Pajama / Shalwar Kameez: A long tunic with tailored trousers
Loafers or dress shoes pair well
Rich colors and vibrant tones are encouraged
~2. Walima Attire (Cocktail to Formal)
The Walima is a more formal reception celebrating our marriage.
Women:
Elegant gowns, formal cocktail dresses, or refined traditional Pakistani attire in softer or richer tones.
Men:
Suit and tie (any color welcome)
*Sherwani: A long, formal coat-style jacket (similar to a tuxedo jacket) worn over traditional attire
Formal traditional wear in classic tones such as navy, burgundy, emerald, or cream
Accessories — bangles, statement earrings, scarves, and embellishments — add elegance and festive sparkle.
There are no color restrictions for either events. With the exception of no red on Sunday.
Kindly avoid wearing red on Sunday, May 17, as this color is reserved for the bride.
