Our Wedding

Abby's point of view-I came to Lake Geneva to celebrate St. Patrick's day with my friend Kim. We spent the day in Mchenry for the ShamROCK the Fox. It was an absolute blast. For the night life we ended up at a favorite bar in Lake Geneva called Magpies. When we entered the back patio to find seats the one empty seat that was left was next to mister Hayden Norris. We sat next to each other for about 2 1/2 hours and got to know each other. He did ask me on a date that night which I canceled a week later....Fast forward 5 months. I am back to LG for Kim's Birthday weekend. We were out and about in LG bar hopping and out of no where mister Hayden Norris shows up where we are. I still remember what he was wearing that night and complimented him on his outfit cause he looked goooooood. He asked me one simple question that night that made me realize he was different than anyone else I had talked to before. He gained a lot of brownie points and I decided I should go on a date with him. We went on our first date about month later.Months later I found out that he saw me on Kim's story that weekend and left his party he was at on Blarney's Island to make his move on me. I say he stalked me but he says "he knew what he wanted".

Right Place, Right Time

St Patrick’s day March 18th 2023. That’s when it all began. We both were in mchenry for the dying of the river and the bar crawl. I went with some long time friends and ended up meeting my brother, his at the time fiancé, now wife, there as well. I ended up leaving to head home for a few and get ready for the night with my brother and friends in Lake Geneva. When I arrived in lake Geneva we all gathered at a friend’s home and then went to magpies, a local bar/restaurant on the main strip of lake Geneva. It was still very cold out so they had a tend covering their outdoor bar with heaters. We all kind of spread out across the bar and I’m sitting down with my drink when out of no where this beautiful woman sat next to me. Turns out her name is Abbygail. Unknown to each other we actually crossed paths during the day because of mutual friends. Well the night went well so I asked her on a date for 1 week later. As the day is coming closer she canceled on me. From then until about the middle of August we didn’t talk to each other. I went out to blarny island here in antioch. While I was on the island I saw on a mutual friends Snapchat that Abby was in Lake Geneva. I got on the next ferry off the island and made my way to Lake Geneva. I found the guys at champs bar and asked where the girls were. They told me Thumbs Up. I went there and spent the rest of the night with my friends and Abby. Near the end of the night I sat with Abby at the bar and said to her and got to know her. A few days later I asked her on a date and it was meant to be.

Oh Mike. I’ll tell ya this man is goofy as hell but one great guy. Originally when Abby and I got engaged, he suggested to the be “flower man” with a fanny pack and all. When he said it little did he know he was already going to be standing in our wedding.

I met Monica about 4 years ago when we worked at the same martini bar. We grew our friendship by trying a new restaurant in our area every week, drove to Gatlinburg for my birthday weekend, introduced tattoos, and have had many shopping trips.

Kim and I played softball together at UW Stout and then roomed together for the next two years. We made many great memories in the 1309 house and co-parented a beautiful cat Yeti. Cheers to 7 years of a great friendship!
