Hayden and Bre first met at Fort Wilderness in the summer of 2024. They hung out at Lab (which Hayden visited frequently) and Main Camp. Throughout the summer they became friends. One night at Lab, Bre was playing guitar and leading worship, and Hayden was there with his camera. The fire started to shift and the smoke was getting in his eyes and Bre asked if he wanted to sit by her, it was in that moment that Hayden fell for her.

Bre decided to stay on contract staff the following fall and encouraged Hayden to do the same. After he also got accepted onto contract staff as well, Bre also mentioned to Hayden that if he needed a place to stay - the other side of her duplex building was available (so subtle lol).

Later on they both moved into opposite sides of the duplex, and began to spend more and more time with each other. They grew incredibly fond of one another. It was on September 27th, 2024 that Hayden professed his feelings for Bre, and she told him the same. A week later on October 3rd, 2024, Hayden asked Bre's parents if he could take her out on a date, and they said yes of course.

On October 7th, 2024 Hayden took Bre on their first date to Madison, WI. He greeted her with flowers and together they got coffee, ate lunch right next to the capitol building, visited the botanical gardens, and took home Cane's. It was the greatest first date both of them had ever had, and a love story only God could have written.

Over the time they have dated, Hayden has written Bre a note/letter every single day. Hayden officially popped the question on September 7th, 2025, and Bre joyously said yes.
