Lucas and Haylea first met in passing at an ISU football tailgate in the Haunted Forest in Ames, IA. “I need your Snapchat” were the first words out of Luke in that encounter. After months (6 months to be exact) of persistent snapchats and numerous date offers on Lucas’s end, Haylea finally gave in. Their first date was on the front porch of Lucas’s house in Ames, eating take-out Buffalo Wild Wings (Covid limited their date options).
Fast-forward to August 2024, almost 5 years after meeting, Luke proposed at the Iowa State Fair - one of Haylea’s favorite places!
