Haylee and Colton first met while on a mission trip in Bogota, Colombia after their Junior years of high school. Haylee immediately liked Colton a whole lot.

During their Senior year, they both attended the Kingsland Baptist Church Student Ministry, and partook in a sunrise service every Sunday morning before church with their friends. Around this time is when they both felt called into ministry.

They became good friends over their Senior year, but then Covid struck! Their friend group ended up playing video games and talking virtually for the entirety of quarantine, and continued on talking even afterward.

They went off to college during the Fall of 2020. At first, Haylee and Colton went to different colleges. Colton went off to the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, IL and Haylee went to Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA, both pursuing futures in ministry. There wasn’t a day that went by without them still talking to each other. Eventually, they were on the phone talking every night for several hours.

At the end of their first semester, Haylee decided that Liberty University wasn’t a good fit for her. She left to attend the Moody Bible Institute, which also happened to be where Colton was.

Haylee and Colton started dating on December 19, 2020 and have been dating and in love ever since.

They get to spend a lot of time together, especially now that they both go to school at the Moody Bible Institute.

Colton proposed on July 25, 2023 to Haylee on the top of the Taylor High School parking garage. This was the site that they got to know each other during the sunrise service they went to every week.
