When's the official wedding day?
The official day is Saturday, October 28th, 2023. Be on the lookout for save-the-dates and invitations later for more details.
Why did we choose Avalon Legacy Ranch in Mckinney, Texas as our venue?
We decided on ALR as our venue because it blends the southern feel of the groom's childhood and the natural forests of the midwest for the bride. Although this was our second venue choice, we thought that the closer location would allow more friends and family to attend our wedding, and we wouldn't want you to miss out.
What's our color pallete?
Our color palette will be dark hunter green, rust orange, burgundy and champagne gold. If you want to match, please pick shades of green, orange, dark red or another option for the older ladies in the family to have the opportunity to wear rose gold, pale pink, or nude.
Where should I stay if I'm coming out of town?
As of right now, for our out-of-town guests, we are trying to block off hotel rooms at the Hampton Inn & Suites located at 2008 N Central Expy (the 75) Mckinney, Tx 75069.
There will be additional information on details included with formal invitations. There are also additional options on the travel section of the website.
What do you want as a wedding gift?
Josh and Haylee are looking for honeymoon funds as most of their current spare funds will be dedicated to making the wedding beautiful. Additionally, since Haylee already has a fully functioning home, they will not need any home items.
Can I bring a plus one?
Please do not spontaneously bring a plus one unless the RSVP specifies otherwise. For singles with known significant others, their SOs will already be added to their response cards.
(Ex: For Ms. Jane Doe, x out of 2 joining) For families, children will be included in the same manner.
Can I bring my children?
Yes, you can bring your kids as long as their attendance is indicated on the RSVP form; for further questions, look at the previous question for plus ones.
Additionally, please know that the ceremony and most of the reception will be outside, so plan accordingly. However, there will be inside bathrooms and mother areas for younger children.
Which airport should I fly into?
Dallas Fort Worth(DFW) airport will be the best option, as it's closer, but Dallas Lovefield(DAL) will also work.
Will there be meal options for vegetarian/vegan?
We are still currently planning on doing Torchy's Tacos (street tacos) as dinner, and we include a salad option that contains romaine, arugula & picked mint, avocado, pico de gallo,
grilled corn, cotija cheese, peppadew peppers &
pistachios with chipotle sauce & champagne vinaigrette. For vegan options will be having one of these prepared without the cheese.
What are your safety precautions for the wedding?
For Covid-19, we have opted for an outdoor wedding to lower the chance of contracting c19. Additionally, we will have a shuttle to drive the older family members to the ceremony sight first to take their seats in a designated area. Masks are optional, but we ask you to respect everyone's personal convictions and stance on this topic.
For security and emergency, we will have two Collin County deputies on duty for the ceremony and reception. The nearest hospitals are also less than 15 minutes from the venue. (Baylor Scott and White on Lake forest and 380, then Medical City off the 75 and 121)
Will there be closed carry allowed?
No, as per our contract with the venue, no guests or vendors will be allowed to open or closed carry firearms into the venue. But, don't worry, if anything is to happen, we have two deputies on duty that can take care of any situation.
How late will your reception go until?
Arrival time is scheduled to start at 4:00 pm, with the ceremony at 4:30 pm, and the vendors will begin to pack their things are roughly 11:15-11:30 pm, with all persons off the property by midnight.
What does transportation look like?
-You are allowed to drive and park your car, but any and all vehicles left after midnight will be towed the same morning at the owner's fault.
-Uber and black cabs can reach the venue, so if you plan on not being able or want to drive around 11 pm, please use these services.
-There will be on-site transportation for older or disabled family members unable to walk easily to and from the ceremony area.
Will this be a religious ceremony?
Yes the ceremony will be held in accordance of reformed Baptist or Calvinistic Christian theology and the reception will mirror this with a non-alcoholic happy hour with custom mocktails.
