Things to Do

Santa Barbara holds a special place in our hearts. We have had some of our favorite weekends away up here. This is a true California town and as California natives we are thrilled to share it with all of you. Below are some of our favorite spots and we hope visiting them will give a little taste of that Santa Barbara magic!

Butterfly Beach

A hidden gem on the Montecito side of Santa Barbara. Pack a PTG (party to go) and sit on the wall, watch the surfers and all the dog walkers! It is a gorgeous spot to catch the sunset or get some vitamin D!

THE FUNK ZONE

Our favorite place to try all the local wineries and breweries. This is also the neighborhood where our Welcome Dinner will be hosted! You can hop from tasting room to tasting room sampling all the local libations Santa Barbara has to offer. Often there is live music and delicious food trucks serving up California fare, it is a can't miss party spot when visiting Santa Barbara.

TANDUM BIKING

A great way to see the coastline of Santa Barbara is to rent a bike! In the heart of the Funk Zone lies the perfect starting point for rolling expeditions along Santa Barbara's World Famous Coastal Bike Path. Follow the boardwalk past beautiful sandy beaches, and on to the bird sanctuary. Rent hundreds of types of bicycles including specialty cycles, bicycles, Taga Bikes, Electric Bikes, beach rentals, and more!

HENDRY'S BOATHOUSE

The best kept secret in northern Santa Barbara! Our favorite place to end a weekend away in SB on. Tucked away on a secluded dog beach where you can sip a bloody Mary and enjoy some eggs benny. Might have to wait to snag a table, but definitely worth the wait!

Seaside Gardens Nursery - Carpenteria

David's passion is plants, and all things you can grow. We have visited many beautiful nurseries but this by far is the most gorgeous! On your way up or down from Santa Barbara you must stop at Seaside Gardens, it feels more like a garden museum rather than a nursery.

Coronado Butterfly Reserve

Santa Barbara is known for its Monarch butterflies. The Coronado butterfly preserve is adjacent to the largest Monarch butterfly groves in California and cannot be missed. The reserve also offers beautiful hikes with ocean views.

Santa Barbara Bowl

One of the most beautiful music venues in all of California, an outdoor space with perfect acoustics nestled in the hills of Santa Barbara. A magical place to see your favorite local band and there isn't a bad seat in the house.

Coffee Experience & Tour, Good Land Organics

One of our first trips up to Santa Barbara was to take a tour of the Good Land Organics coffee farm, the roasters of the local coffee brand, Frinj. Our dream would be to have a coffee/avocado farm just like this one, one day. On the tour you get to sample all the goodies the farm has to offer. And if you don't have time to take the tour, be sure to grab a cup of Frinj at most coffee shops around SB. It's delish!
