There is so much to see and do while you’re here celebrating with us, and we really encourage you to make a weekend (or more!) of it.
Right on our doorstep is the beautiful hinterland region of Maleny, known for its rolling green hills, rainforest walks, and relaxed village atmosphere. You can explore local lookouts, enjoy a coffee in town, visit nearby waterfalls, or take a stroll through the stunning Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve for incredible views of the Glass House Mountains.
While you’re in Maleny, a visit to Maleny Botanic Gardens & Bird World is a must. Set in a beautiful garden landscape, you can wander through vibrant bird aviaries, hand-feed colourful parrots, and enjoy one of the most unique and interactive wildlife experiences in the region.
A short drive away, the Sunshine Coast offers a perfect coastal escape with beautiful beaches, coastal walks, and vibrant dining spots. Whether it’s a swim at Mooloolaba, a sunset at Noosa, or a long lunch by the ocean, it’s an easy and relaxing day trip from the hinterland.
For something uniquely Australian, we highly recommend a visit to Australia Zoo. Made famous by the Irwin family, it’s an incredible wildlife experience where you can get up close with kangaroos, koalas, crocodiles, and more, plus enjoy the famous live wildlife shows.
Whether you’re here for the nature, the coast, or a bit of adventure, this region truly has something for everyone—and we hope you enjoy exploring it as much as we love calling it home.
We’ll be heading over to North Stradbroke Island for a few days of post-wedding celebrating and relaxing, and we’d love for you to join us if you’re keen!
We’ll be staying for five nights from Monday the 5th of October, along with a few other wedding guests — think of it as a bit of a honeymoon… just with some very welcome chaperones thrown in for good measure!
For those who haven’t been before, North Stradbroke Island (or “Straddie”) is truly one of the most beautiful spots in Queensland. With its stunning beaches, crystal-clear water, and incredible coastal views, it’s the perfect place to unwind after the wedding festivities. There’s plenty to do as well — from beach walks and swimming, to whale watching (it’s peak season!), surfing, fishing, or simply relaxing with a drink and soaking it all in.
Whether you’d like to come over for a day trip or stay for a few nights yourself, you are more than welcome. It would be so special to keep the celebrations going with more time together in such a gorgeous setting.
No pressure at all — just an open invitation if you feel like extending the fun!
