Colton and I were introduced when we where elected President and Secretary of the Rapid City FFA chapter. We both have a passion for agriculture and this organization was definitely a stepping stone for our relationship!

On Friday July 10th, Colton asked me if I wanted to go camping as we normally did during the summer. We headed to our normal spot out in the Black Hills, ironically where we had our first date. But because it was the weekend after the 4th of July our spot was already taken. So we drove through the hills for another hour before we decided on a spot on the top of this ridge. I remember to the west you could see the sunset with pretty colors and to the east there was a massive thunderhead rolling in that has flashes of lighting every so often. So after we set the tent up I climbed in and started reading my book and after a few moments Colton asked me to come outside and see his lights. I came out the the tent and was surprised by strings of fairy lights that he had strung through the tree above us. It was beautiful! After a moment I turn around to Colton on one knee with the ring out and a big grin on his face. Of course I said yes!
