Our Wedding

Harry and Hayley met through friends on August 20, 2016. What started as a simple nice to meet you quickly turned into texting all day long, staying up late just getting to know each other and not wanting to say goodbye at the end of the night. Their relationship blossomed and soon they were living together. No home is complete without a four-legged friend though, so they took a trip down to the Amish country in Pennsylvania to pick up Callie. Eventually, Harry and Hayley bought a house, moved everything into the new house in about 24 hours (with the help of their amazing friends and family) and then got on a plane for their trip to Greece! Harry knew that he wanted to propose to Hayley in Greece and towards the end of their trip, while exploring the Acropolis in Athens, Harry decided that this was the place that he wanted to pop the question. He told Hayley that he wanted his sister-in-law Laura to take a picture of them using her fancy camera. Harry spent a few minutes finding just the right spot for this picture. They had their picture taken in front of the Parthenon and Hayley started to walk away, only to turn around and find that Harry was down on one knee holding out the ring. Hayley did not believe that he was being serious and it took several minutes of her saying are you sure? and really? before she finally said yes! Harry had lead Hayley to believe that she had to wait 11 years for him to ask because every time she brought it up he added a year onto the waiting time. She knew that this probably wasn't true but assumed that it would at least be a few more years. He had certainly done a good job at throwing her off! Harry won the award for the most magical proposal in the most beautiful place! They decided to have a longer engagement and originally planned to get married on September 18, 2021. Unfortunately, life threw a wrench into the plans when Hayley was diagnosed with breast cancer in February of 2020. The wedding planning came to a hault and they spent the next two years fighting cancer with everything they had. When it was clear that Hayley was still going to be going through chemotherapy treatments on their original wedding date, they pushed the wedding back another year to August 20, 2022. Hayley's diagnosis brought the pair much closer as they quickly learned the meaning of the marriage vows in sickness and in health. Hayley finished her treatments, they welcomed Kennedi into their home and they soon were finally able to switch gears and focus on the next huge milestone in their lives- their wedding! Now, 6 years later from the day that they first met, Harry and Hayley will officially tie the knot and begin this new chapter in their lives as husband and wife. This day will be such a special occasion for them and something that they have been looking forward to during all of the trials and tribulations of the past few years. They are so excited to be able to share this day and celebrate with all of their favorite people!
