Haylie and Nick met at Butler University and the rest, as they say, is history. They became friends and bonded quickly, studying together in Atherton Union and C-Club (RIP). They would take walks around campus as the sun would set, often finding themselves at the Carillon. There was a muggy day in August of 2020 that they went hiking in Brown County Indiana, and it was the catalyst for the rest that would come. Brown County would become an incredibly special place to them as their relationship continued. September 26, 2020, Nick asked Haylie to be his girlfriend as they stood outside her senior house under the starry sky. Since then, they have both graduated from Butler University. Haylie then graduated from Marian University with a masters, and then from Butler University (again) in 2026 with her Master of Physician Assistant Studies. Nick works for a local news station as a photographer and editor. Nowadays, you’ll find them hiking in various places and staying in tiny cabins, spending time with their friends, and watching sports of all kinds (including Indycar, football, basketball, soccer, baseball, hockey, volleyball etc.). An interesting note: their engagement photos were taken at Butler University, where their story began. They only found it fitting to pay homage to the place that introduced them. Their wedding day will be full of nods to the people and places that shaped them individually and together, and each of you played an integral role in their journeys! They are both incredibly excited to celebrate with all of you on September 26, 2026!
