Do I need a visa to travel to Egypt?

Yes, Canadian citizens need a visa to enter Egypt.

Egypt reintroduced the e-Visa option and removed the requirement for Canadians to apply in advance at consulates, making the process more convenient

You can either:

1) Apply for an e-Visa:

Apply online; processing takes about 2 days, so apply at least a week before your trip.

2) Get a Visa on arrival:

Available at Egyptian airports.

You can complete the application and obtain a visa upon arrival.

Note: your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your travel date. Families traveling with children must secure individual visas for each traveler.

For more details, visit the Egypt e-Visa Portal

Is the wedding reception suitable for kids?

While we love our little ones, we’ve planned a fun and lively evening for our adult guests. We encourage parents to say good night to their kids as we dance the night away!

What currency should I use in Egypt, and what payment methods are accepted?

Feel free to convert your Canadian dollars to cash upon arrival in Egypt at one of the many currency exchange locations. Canadian credit and debit cards are widely accepted in most places. However, it’s always handy to keep some cash on hand, as smaller local spots, transportation, and tips often require cash payments. Be sure to notify your bank about your travel plans in advance to avoid any issues.

What is the weather like in Egypt by the end of August?

Expect hot and sunny weather, with temperatures around 30°C (86°F) during the day. Evenings can be cooler, but still pretty warm.

What's the best way to stay connected in Egypt ?

Buy a local SIM card from providers like Vodafone, Orange, or Etisalat, available at the airport or in the city. Activating roaming on your phone is also possible.

What type of power plugs and chargers should I bring?

Egypt uses Type C and Type F power outlets, both featuring two round pins instead of flat prongs. If your devices use a different plug type, bring a compatible adapter, or you can purchase one upon arrival.
