On a day in March 2020, during covid, Heather swiped right on Adams hinge profile. Since Adam was busy working in Alberta, it wasn’t until the labour day weekend that he finally sent her a message on Hinge.. And the rest is history.


After texting back and forth for a few weeks, they decided to go on a date. Unfortunately, the day before their scheduled date, Heather found out her grandma was placed in palliative care and she had to cancel their date. Adam said he would leave the ball in her court and let her reschedule the date when she was ready.


They continued texting and a few days later, Heather messaged Adam she was ready and they planned their 2nd first date.


They met at Starbucks and ultimately closed the cafe down, taking their conversation out to the parking lot. Their 2nd date was dinner at a restaurant and the 3rd was hiking. After that, covid shut everything down again, and it was make it or break it.


They persevered and discovered they had a combined love for traveling, hiking, and above all—doing things. They became each other's go-to person, navigating life hand in hand. During a very unprecedented few years in the world, and long distance, the one thing they were consistently sure about was each other.


In the spring of 2021, Adam left to go back out west to work, and Heather remained in Ontario. They saw each other approximately every 3 weeks, but only for the weekend. This remained the norm until December of 2021. In May 2021, Heather took a trip out to Alberta to visit for the weekend. They toured Calgary, Banff and Columbia Icefields, taking hikes and seeing incredible scenery.


In February 2022, they moved in together and in June they adopted their rescue pup Marlow! Through 2022, Adam continued to travel back and forth to Alberta for work, and the decision was made to move to Alberta to be together.


In June 2023, they made the move! On June 17, on a hike in Redwood Park in BC, Adam got down on one knee and asked Heather to marry him. She, of course, said Yes!
Together, they've discovered that the best adventures are the ones they create with each other.
