Bob and Heather owe their meeting to Nina Smoker, a college floormate of Bob's and a coworker of Heather's. As Heather and Nina grew closer at work, Nina realized that Heather and Bob were destined to meet. Determined to bring them together, Nina meticulously planned the perfect introduction at her birthday party in the city.

Nina helped Heather pick out the perfect outfit and instructed her not to leave the party until she had met the legendary "Bob," who she was sure Heather would hit it off with. Bob, true to form, didn't arrive until much later in the evening. While Heather was eagerly awaiting his arrival, Bob was drawn to the tall, beautiful blonde sipping room-temperature tequila from a solo cup.

For Bob, it was love at first sight, and he quickly struck up a conversation that would change both their lives. Although Bob introduced himself, Heather, preoccupied with fulfilling Nina's instructions, didn't catch his name. They connected instantly, but Heather was still keenly aware that she couldn't leave until Nina knew she had met "Bob".

Hours passed, and Heather, desperate to leave, asked (unknowingly) Bob to help her find "Bob." Amused, Bob played along, and after 30 minutes of pretending to search, he revealed that Heather had been talking to him the entire time. With Nina's conditions met, Heather promptly made her exit, but not without Bob's number in hand.
