The story of Heather and Garrison is not the classic boy met girl, boy fell in love with girl at first sight. They didn’t even like each other when first they first met.

Heather agreed to go on a date with Garrison as friends on May 3rd, 2023 for dinner. A couple dates later at Los Mariachis in Nelsonville and not long into the meal, his pager went off for a structure fire. Being left at Mexican, it was then she knew. She fell in love with the selflessness he showed by dropping everything, including her, to help a stranger in need.

That fall Heather introduced Garrison and his dog Jelly Bean to her boys Eli and Oliver and her dog Elroy. Of course Jelly Bean was the biggest hit.

Bonds built on Lego building, video game playing, and dinners cooked together. Eli and Oliver agreed that Garrison could join their family.
