Heather began working at the restaurant that John's family owns while she was in her Junior year at Waynesburg University. She told a mutual friend/coworker that John was good looking and that friend told John (without her knowing!) that she was interested. The first time they hung out, they made breakfast for dinner after work... and the rest is history!

Heather always dreamed of seeing NYC at Christmastime. John insisted that they go after Christmas, while they both had some time after work. He surprised her with a beautiful hotel, just a few blocks from Central Park. They spent the weekend sight seeing and going to a comedy show (thanks Steve and Jeannette!) On the last night they got dressed up for a fancy dinner that John had reserved. John was hurrying Heather out of the room of the hotel and she had no idea why he was being so pushy! They went for a carriage ride in Central Park where they stopped at the Friend's Fountain to take some pictures. John proposed to Heather while the carriage driver took pictures! Then they went to dinner, where Heather could not stop staring at her hand, naturally! When they got back to the hotel, there were chocolate covered strawberries and champagne sent from his parents! (the reason why he was hurrying her out of the room, lol!)
