Travis and Heather were just two little college freshmen when they first met in 2016 at Texas Lutheran University. They became friends through the TLU Wesley Foundation bible study group. After some gentle pushing (and borderline pestering) by fellow bible study members, they decided to go on a date. After a few months, life pulled them in different directions as Heather stayed at TLU and Travis moved back home to work in the construction field. Every now and then Travis would reach out and update Heather on life and ask how she was doing. Travis randomly reached out one day in March of 2022 to let her know he was closing his Netflix account that Heather was on in 2017, leading to continuous conversation for the next few weeks. On April 5, 2022 they decided to officially give dating a try again, him living in Pflugerville and her living in San Antonio. For the next eight months they would call, text, facetime, and visit each other on the weekends depending on their schedules. In December 2023, the day before Christmas Eve, Travis moved into an apartment in San Antonio and transferred to another plant to be closer to Heather. The next year would bring them their one year anniversary, a few road trips together and with family, and navigating a relationship around very different schedules. On December 20, 2023 after at least a month of planning, Travis coordinated a big surprise involving their families and some of Heather’s coworkers, where he got down on one knee and asked her to spend forever with him. They are excited and cannot wait to see what the Lord has in store for their future.
