Heaven & Cam

September 14, 2024 • Port Alberni, BC, Canada

When is the RSVP Deadline?

Please RSVP on the website, by mail, or by emailing wiebewedding2024@gmail.com.

Can I bring a date?

Only the people listed on the invitation are invited, unless otherwise specified.

Are kids welcome?

While we love the little ones who make our family so whole, we have decided to have a child-free ceremony and reception. We understand that child-care can be difficult to find, so we will be hiring professional child-care workers from 2PM - 9PM the day of the wedding. If you would like to take advantage of this service, please let us know by August 14th. If we do not know by August 14th, you will have to find your own childcare.

Are pets welcome?

We ask that you please do not bring your pets to the ceremony or reception.

What will the weather be like?

Welcome to Port Alberni, all you out of towners! The fun part about living in a forest, is that you never truly know what the weather is going to do. Most years, the time of the wedding is still warm during the day and cools off quite a bit at night. Please be sure to keep an eye on weather predictions for a more accurate expectation.

Where should I park?

There will be plenty of parking at the house and on the street! We will have someone available to assist in parking to make sure everyone gets in.

What should I wear?

Please dress appropriately for predicted weather. For our friends and family wearing heels; we don't recommend stilettos! The entire location is grass and former farmland. We don't want anyone ruining their shoes or breaking an ankle! Please do not wear white. Someone, somewhere, when you least expect it, will be armed with a super-soaker of red wine and they will be happy to use it.

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

The wedding ceremony and reception will be outdoors. We ask that guests please refrain from entering the house unless asked to by the bride, groom, or home owner.

If everything is outside, how will I use the restroom?

We will be renting outhouses for the event.

Can I take pictures with my phone and/or camera?

We do ask that phones and cameras are put away for the ceremony. We are paying a lot of money to a photographer who will capture the ceremony for us. Photos of other peoples phones just isn't the vibe we're going for. For the reception, absolutely take as many photos and videos as you want!

Will food be served?

There will be a pot-luck style barbecue after the ceremony! We will be providing hamburgers, hot dogs and chicken breasts. Feel free (but not obligated) to bring a side dish of your choosing. Please make sure anything you do bring is labelled and lists any allergens (i.e. dairy, peanuts, shellfish, gluten, etc.) to help protect any at risk guests.

What if I have a dietary restriction?

Please let us know so we can make a main option available to you. Unfortunately, we hold no control over what other people choose to bring. Please feel free to bring something exclusively for yourself.

Are masks required? Will they be provided?

Masks are not required! And therefore will not be provided. If you yourself feel more comfortable wearing one, please feel free to do so.

What time should I arrive?

The ceremony starts at 3PM. We recommend arriving around 2PM to settle in and orient yourself. If you are late, please do not make an entrance about it. Quietly find a seat.

I am coming from out of town. Where should I stay?

Please see our Travel Page for a list of hotels/motels in town. Camping details are also available.

Will there be dancing?

Absolutely! Let us know what songs you want to hear on the playlist by emailing it to wiebewedding2024@gmail.com or answering with your RSVP!

Will I get a chance to take professional photos with the couple?

Professional, staged photos with the photographer have been reserved for the couple, wedding party and immediate family.

What could/should I do while waiting for the reception to start?

We will be taking some photos after the ceremony. There will be plenty of games available, such as Mega Jenga, "Yardzee", Corn Hole (or as Cam calls it, Beanie Boiz), Beer Pong and Bocce, so feel free to hang out and play while waiting for the couple to return from photos!

What time does the reception end?

The noise and music must be cut off at 11PM as per the area by-law. There will, however, be a fire going, drinks, and quiet conversation until guests leave or go to bed. As for when the couple will leave for the night, who knows!

Is there a gifts registry?

There is no registry.

I have a question that was not answered here. What should I do?
