Wallace Falls State Park

Our venue takes its name from this state park, which is directly next door and free to access if you walk over. The namesake falls consist of Lower, Middle, and Upper tier falls (which are 100 feet taller than Niagara Falls!), and the park features several woodsy hiking trails of varying difficulties to viewpoints for each level. It also features some stunning mountain views along the way.

Other Outdoor Activities

This area near the foot of the Cascade Mountains has many outdoor activities. There are nice places to walk and picnic, as well as opportunities for excursions within a short driving distance (like kayaking!). For example, one place to go is Big Eddy Park, just 2.5 miles down the road, which features beach access, canoeing, kayaking, and fishing on the beautiful Skykomish river.

It is also a good jumping-off point to take a scenic drive up into the mountains - you can even go all the way to Leavenworth, a scenic German-themed town nestled in a beautiful valley (~1.5 hours away).

Woodinville - Wine Tasting

Woodinville is a town you'll pass on your way the Lodge (45 mins away), that is one of the best wine-tasting areas around. Western Washington is home to many vineyards, so you can taste some local fare here.

Activities at the Lodge

Wallace Falls Lodge itself has plenty of space for activities. We will be bringing some jumbo size lawn games and some board games, and we may host trivia or other similar events. The lodge has some nice lounging spaces indoors and outdoors (and don't forget about the hot tub!) so rain or shine, it should be a comfortable place to relax.

Skagit Valley Tulip Festival

One of the things Washington state is known for is its tulips, and lucky for us, the annual tulip festival is in April each year. Similar to what you might see in Holland, you can visit many tulip farms and see rows and rows of their tulips in bloom, as well some design gardens showcasing the many different varieties. It's just under two hours from the Lodge, but in our opinion, worth the trip. We may organize a group caravan over to see them on Wednesday, after we all leave the lodge, for those interested.
