The Beginning

How It  All Started 

It all started in Spanish class&hellip; or so the story goes. Hedley and T.J. had two classes together at Furman University, even though he was a History major and she a Communications and Political Science double major, their paths managed to cross and thankfully so! During their spring semester of 2016, they bumped into each other at a Jon Pardy concert one night and reminisced on the “not so glorious” Spanish days, did a little swing dancing, and spent the night laughing with mutual friends.

The next week they went on their first date to see a Jeff Foxworthy and Larry the Cable Guy comedy show and what a first date it was! Hedley was impressed with how much of a gentleman T.J. was and T.J. was impressed Hedley knew who Jeff Foxworthy and Larry the Cable Guy were. The show was followed up by a delicious, but messy, dinner of brisket nachos at Universal&nbsp;Joint, which started their trend of always ordering the messiest item on the menu and always finding ways to laugh about it.&nbsp;





Their&nbsp;dates continued&nbsp;with movie nights, lake trips, hikes&nbsp;and lots of ice-cream! Their&nbsp;love story is one that is full of time&nbsp;with family and friends, grilling out every chance they get, laughing till they cry, traveling often and sharing every moment with&nbsp;Marlin- their adorable golden retriever.&nbsp;

The Proposal

Love Takes Flight

What a special day March 3rd, 2018 was! T.J. spent months setting up for the&nbsp;epic proposal where “love took flight."&nbsp;On a windy Saturday morning, Hedley got ready to go flying for the second time with T.J. and then planned to attend their good friend, Lauren’s, birthday celebration. Meanwhile, everyone else was getting ready to surprise her. Hedley and T.J.’s family and friends came to the airport to set up&nbsp;decorations&nbsp;and prepare for what they knew would be the best day of her life. Meanwhile, T.J. does all the pre-flight checks and they are good to go!

T.J. takes off effortlessly, while all friends and family watch from the parking lot. About 15 minutes into the flight, T.J. tells Hedley to look out the window – “What does that say?",&nbsp;he asks.&nbsp;When she looks down she sees a giant field with “Hedley marry me?” spelled out in big red letters! Screams of pure excitement, tears of joy&nbsp;and a jaw dropped chin turns to T.J. as he holds the most beautiful ring. “Oh my goodness, YES!” Hedley exclaims – still too shocked and excited to move. Laughing and smiling T.J. says, “Hedley, can you please take the ring? I am trying to fly the plane.”&nbsp;She does and&nbsp;follows up with – I have to call my mom! As the love and questions poor out of her she asks, “Can we fly over it again?!” “Of course, as many times as you want”, says, T.J. (which later he regretted because we did have to go back at some point). After all, he knew more surprises were waiting for her.





Finally, she&nbsp;agrees to head back, hesitantly, because it was so amazing, T.J. lands and says, “I have one more surprise.” They taxi down the runway and she sees a photographer snapping pictures of them! Aw &lt;3 she says, “Thank you so much, a photographer, that is perfect!” The plane comes to a&nbsp;stop&nbsp;and when she looks to her right she sees a crowd of her most favorite people in the world appear from the hanger. Oh boy, the water works began pouring as she begins to hug everyone so beyond excited.





Champagne is poured by their close family friend and mentor, the truly amazing Matt Furry who made a special trip to represent T.J.’s best friend Preston and his second momma, Deana. The day was magical!! It was followed by friends and family gathering at Big River to eat and celebrate the happy couple. This day was one for the books and T.J. and his mom, Angela, deserve all the praise for planning and executing a truly special engagement!

When booking please mention you are a guest of the Jones-Warren Wedding for a discounted rate.&nbsp;The Ritz offers many activities on sight such as:&nbsp;&nbsp;99 holes of&nbsp;Golf, a luxury spa, an infinity pool,&nbsp;several on-sight&nbsp;restaurants, as well as options to rent kayaks, jet skis, and water bikes.&nbsp;

The Lodge at Lake Oconee is a short 12 minute drive from the Ritz-Carlton and located right on the water!&nbsp;Amenities include:&nbsp;Complimentary Continental Breakfast, Unlimited High Speed Internet, and a&nbsp;Fitness Room,&nbsp;Sauna, and Pool. There is no room block for&nbsp;this hotel simply&nbsp;because having one did not affect the rental rate.&nbsp;

The Quality Inn and Suites is located off Interstate 20 and is a quick 15 minute drive to the wedding venue, the Ritz Carlton. Amenities include a&nbsp;refrigerator&nbsp;and flat-screen television in every room, complimentary wireless Internet access,&nbsp;&nbsp;and&nbsp;complimentary continental breakfast. Recreation opportunities including a fitness center and a seasonal outdoor pool. Free self parking is available onsite. There is not a room block due to no change in booking rates.&nbsp;
