Our Wedding

Like many modern love stories, ours began with a swipe. We matched on Bumble in early 2020, just weeks before the world hit pause. What started as casual messages quickly turned into nightly conversations that helped us feel a little less alone in those uncertain days.Our first in-person date came just before the lockdown — perfect timing, because soon after, going out wasn’t an option. Instead, we got to know each other in a way that felt old-fashioned: long talks, cooking together, watching movies, and simply enjoying each other’s company without distractions. It wasn’t the beginning we expected, but it was exactly what we needed. And somehow, amidst all the chaos, something beautiful began to grow.

How We Met

Our very first date was at Crossgates Mall—an easy meeting spot that turned out to be more memorable than we could’ve imagined. We parked next to each other without realizing we had almost the exact same car—just in different colors. A pretty fitting start for two people who seemed so similar, yet brought their own unique spark.We wandered the mall a bit, even bought a pair of golf shoes (because why not?), but the real magic happened afterward. We ended up sitting on the backs of our cars in the parking lot, just talking. Four hours flew by like nothing. It was the kind of conversation that makes you forget time completely—easy, honest, and filled with laughter. There was one thing that broke up the endless laughs and talking—Holly. As an older sister does, she has Heidi’s location. She FaceTimed Heidi to ensure that she was okay.That day was simple, but it felt like something clicked—and it turns out, it did. Even with Holly having her concerns— we were clearly okay. 😉

Our First Date

Once the world slowly started to open back up, so did our life together. What began in isolation quickly blossomed into something full of love, laughter, and all the little moments that make a life feel full.We’ve built a home filled with warmth, shared so many adventures (big and small), have 5 fur babies, and surrounded ourselves with the people who matter most—our incredible family and friends. From long weekends and vacations to cozy nights in, we’ve made every moment count.

Adirondack Winery’s Queensbury Tasting Room offers a craft beverage experience unlike any other in the area! At this location, you can enjoy wine tastings, wine by the glass, local beer, spirits, charcuterie boards, sandwiches, flatbreads, cocktails, brunch, dessert boards, tours of the Winemaking Facility, and so much more! In Fall 2023, they launched Extreme Heights Cidery, which features original and seasonal hard cider varieties, hand-crafted from New York apples. Enjoy their cider by the glass or sample each one by enjoying a cider flight! Reservations recommended 🍷

Springbrook Hollow Farm Distillery

Northway Brewing Company is excited to craft beers that celebrate the people and landscapes that make up our area. Located just north of Saratoga Springs on the edge of Adirondack Park in Queensbury, NY, our facility features a large outdoor seating area, a 3,000 square-foot taproom, and plenty of space and parking. Our Taproom offers full pours, flights, growlers, cans to go, as well as merchandise. Come by and see what’s being brewed in the North Country.

An indoor axe throwing facility in Queensbury, New York. Adirondack Axe was created to bring a unique experience to the Adirondack North County which used to be the heart of the logging industry. Families use to live by the axe, now everyone can experience part of that through the sport of axe throwing. Book in advance and have some closed toed shoes!

Common Roots Brewing Company is a family-owned craft brewery with multiple locations in upstate NY. We offer a rotating selection of fresh beer on tap, to-go sales of packaged beer, and a wide array of spirited merch. Our locally-sourced scratch kitchen features salads, handhelds, snacks, and pizzas. Stop in for a draft and a bite in one of our spacious taprooms!
