Our story began with a simple "Hello! :) How's your weekend going?" but it was something more than simple. &nbsp;Our stories before we even&nbsp;met are laced with God's grace and goodness.&nbsp;&nbsp;After our conversation began, we could clearly&nbsp;see&nbsp;how even though&nbsp;we had&nbsp;met online,&nbsp;it had all been&nbsp;orchestrated by the Creator.









Heidi stopped to meet Spenser on her way home from Duluth, MN where she had run a half marathon the day before. &nbsp;She approached Spenser with sore legs, stiff muscles and&nbsp;a smile on her face. &nbsp;We were both nervous to meet each other but the conversation was so comfortable and we really enjoyed our time together. &nbsp;Despite the hour distance from Rockford to Waterloo, our conversation continued via email, texts, snapchat, phone calls and FaceTime. &nbsp;We both liked the direction it was going. &nbsp;And now here you are visiting our wedding webpage! :)

The story of us.

July 4th 2018

Our 2nd dateaversary. &nbsp;It was a special ordinary day. &nbsp;Heidi thought we were just celebrating 2 years of dating. &nbsp;Spenser had different plans. &nbsp;The day started with making breakfast together and watching a show on netflix. &nbsp;We were getting ready to go to a 4th of July party at our friends house when&nbsp; Spenser suggested that we exchange our cards & gifts before we go. &nbsp;Heidi was so excited to give Spenser the gift that she had specially made for him. &nbsp;Spenser had wrote a letter for Heidi to read which wasn't out of the ordinary. &nbsp;Spenser said that for the 2nd part of his gift that we needed to go out on the front porch of the house.





Spenser had been working secretly on a project for 2 years&nbsp;and&nbsp;decided that it was time to give the gift to Heidi. &nbsp;Spenser had been jotting down the&nbsp;dates of all of&nbsp;our "firsts" during our 2 years of dating. &nbsp;Spenser read the list to Heidi which Heidi loved! &nbsp;They hugged and stayed out on the porch a little while longer. &nbsp;Heidi thinks that the gift giving is over at this point. &nbsp;It is not. &nbsp;Spenser then says "I forgot to tell you about one of the dates on that list.&nbsp;&nbsp;On 5-5 of this year, I&nbsp;asked your dad for his permission to marry you.&nbsp;&nbsp;And today, I&nbsp;am asking you to marry me." &nbsp;Spenser pulls out a ring box,&nbsp;proceeds to get down on one knee and asks “Will you marry me?”





Heidi is surprised and&nbsp;speechless. &nbsp;She literally could not say anything. &nbsp;For those of you who know Heidi well, this is a rare occasion. &nbsp;Heidi begins to hug Spenser while he's down on his knee but still has not answered his question. &nbsp;Heidi realizes that she hasn't responded with any words about the same time Spenser says “You haven’t said yes yet.” Heidi responds&nbsp;"Yes! Yes, I'll marry you!" &nbsp;Then&nbsp;Spenser placed the beautiful ring on Heidi's hand and they sat awhile longer on the porch enjoying the moment together. &nbsp;Spenser wanted to propose on&nbsp;the front porch since that is where we first met.&nbsp;

Details

Heidi met Steph freshman year of college at Winona State when they shared a dorm room together. &nbsp;They spent many hours together in the library studying, on the couch watching Grey's Anatomy, going for walks around the lake&nbsp;and &nbsp;impromptu trips to buy oreos at Target. &nbsp;Heidi & Steph have had many adventures together since their dorm room days and cherish their friendship.&nbsp;&nbsp;Steph is a hematology/oncology&nbsp;nurse and lives&nbsp;in Sioux Falls,&nbsp;SD.

Spenser has known Scott&nbsp;his entire life since Scott is his father. :) &nbsp;Spenser has spent a majority of his life at the shop fixing things, building things,&nbsp;splitting wood, etc... with his father. &nbsp;Spenser enjoys going on wrecker calls with his father and cherishes the time they get to spend together en route and working together to solve problems.&nbsp; Spenser and Scott have a debriefing almost daily about the events that happened that day. &nbsp;Scott is the owner of Scott's Auto&nbsp;body & Towing and lives in Rockford, IA.
