Q + A

When should we RSVP by?

Please RSVP either by mail or through our website by June 13, 2024. We will not be able to honor your RSVP if it is sent after this, as we have to inform our caterer and venue of exact numbers. We have blocked off a set of rooms at La Quinta Inn and Suites, Grand Forks. Reservations must be made by JUNE 12, 2024 AT 11:59PM. ***Note that this is different than the RSVP deadline***

Is the venue accessible for mobility devices?

In short-- yes! This venue consists of mostly paved paths and stone, with a ceremony space that includes a long stone pathway. We would be happy to reserve aisle seats for those who need it. The ceremony space connects to the entire reception space by a concrete driveway. The bathroom is also connected to this space and is accessible for wheelchairs and other mobility aids. There are no stairs or step-ups for the main areas, however, guests who are invited to stay in the on-site housing location will have to be able to take stairs up to it. The main parking lot for guests connects to the venue by a wood shavings trail. Naastad Acres is happy to welcome those with mobility challenges to take their personal paved driveway loop for drop offs and parking.

Is there parking available at your venue?

Yes! Naastad Acres has their own personal parking lot, which is found just past the main entry way.

Will your wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Our wedding is planned to be outdoors. However, in the case of rain, we can squeeze into their full outdoor tent for the ceremony and reception. Since the wedding is on July 13th, dress comfortably-- if it's 90 degrees, the wedding's still on!

What is the dress code for the wedding?

We're not picky. Semi-formal attire is recommended, and like I said previously, watch the weather forecast as it is an outdoor wedding in the middle of July. Bring umbrellas just in case!

What type of food/drink will be served at your wedding?

Our caterer is Ground Round, and we plan to serve swedish meatballs/gravy, ribs, mac and cheese, fresh fruit, house salad, and rolls buffet style. There will be a full cash bar at the venue. Gluten-free options will be available and in some cases, set aside. Please disclose any food allergies/sensitivities on your RSVP form. For dessert, we plan on serving Dairy Queen dilly bars and brownies from Ground Round. There will be no peanuts/treenuts in our food choices. However, DQ dilly bars are prepped in a space that also has peanuts. We will serve turkey/ham and cheese sandwiches late at night around fireworks time.

Where should we bring/send wedding gifts?

Your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift we could ask for! If you would like to honor us with a gift, you can have it delivered to our home address: 1601 36th ave S., apt #105. Grand Forks, ND 58201. A wedding card box will be at our reception.

Am I allowed to take photos at your wedding?

We are requesting an unplugged ceremony. Our photographer is wonderful-- let's give him space to do his work. Please silence your phones during the ceremony. Don't worry-- it'll be quick! We do invite you to take as many pictures as you want during our reception. In fact, I'd love to have some day-of candids!

Who can I connect with on the day-of if I have any questions?

Please avoid the bride and groom on the wedding day if you have any logistical questions. Our host couples will be Christy and Tim Doherty (Dillan's aunt/uncle) and Jill and Robert Brown (Heidi's aunt/uncle).

40 minutes from Grand Forks is a long drive, what are my travel options?

We have rented a shuttle bus to help guests get to and from the venue at the ceremony time and at the end of the night. The bus will take guests to and from The La Quinta Hotel in Grand Forks. Uber and Lyft are available in Grand Forks. Be sure to download the apps and check rates ahead of time. Please drive sober and watch for deer!
