I believe our love story started long before we ever knew. We were both born in Wisconsin 16 days apart from the other. I would never reveal who is older. We will just say that we are the same age. I moved out west to Colorado and he moved out west as well ending up in Montana. We both loved exploring the different but equally wonderful states we were in at the time... but both of us would eventually move back to the state we came from.
We both endured our hardships but honestly that is what brought us together. We can actually give our parents credit because they started it all when my mom wanted his mom's address. We started talking and the kids and my mom would soon notice the smile on my face whenever I would look at my phone. He was absolutely great at making me smile. Even on the hard days. We decided to meet up and ended up sharing a kiss under the stars.
Eventually we would both figure out we were dating. We continued our adventures together after that. He met the kids when we went to Green Bay together and went to the zoo and Bay Beach. He would surprise me with a trip to Duluth. We adventured in state seeing Door County, the Eau Claire Dells, Devils Lake and much more. Then we started getting more adventurous and taking the kids out of state. We went to Michigan and saw the great lakes. We went to Minnesota and explored a large boot and the Mall of America. We went to Disney World and the kids got to see the ocean for the first time.
The best adventures were exploring our favorite places with each other back in Colorado and Montana. Colorado went first. We started in Estes Park and got to see Rocky Mountain National Park, the spooky Stanley Hotel and the biggest pizza we ever had. Then we headed to Colorado Springs with a quick pit stop in Golden to see some dinosaur tracks. We got to drive up to Pikes peak (after the race to the top of course), see our favorite zoo in the world, eat some crazy good food and meet up with some friends.
He felt the pressure for sure to top the Colorado adventure but decided to give it a shot. He showed us Glacier National Park which proved to be quite impressive. We hiked to a glacier lake, shopped at Heidi's store in the Many Glacier Hotel, met up with his friend Sam and then decided to go to a place called Kootenai Falls. There we would hike back and cross a bridge to the waterfall where he would take my hand and ask me to marry him! I think I was so happy I almost forgot to say yes.
We have had so many signs along the way to make us believe we are made for each other that there is no denying it any longer. We have decided to go back to one of the places that make us happy with our bridal party and immediate family. The mountains will be where our happily ever after begins. Then the party at home will follow 2 weeks after. We can not wait to celebrate with all of you!
