Are Helen and Michael registered somewhere?
Come back soon for registry ideas.
What is the attire for the wedding?
While not officially a beach wedding, please keep this theme in mind when thinking about what to wear. The beach has powder-soft sand, so we suggest removing shoes before stepping onto the beach, otherwise you'll never get it all out of your shoes! :)
What are the food and drink options at the event?
There will be a large buffet and an open bar throughout the evening. Please let us know if you have any special dietary restrictions.
What kinds of shenanigans should we expect?
Lots of them! Much planning is underway, but general flow of the event will be partying on the beach behind the venue through sunset, then migrating back indoors to eat, drink, and be merry!
Is that it? Just a few hours of fun?
No! :) We are working on afterparty details as well.
We will also share a list of things to do in the St. Petersburg area in case you'd like to make it a long weekend. Who knows, H&M might show up at some of them!
Where should we stay?
Please see the "Travel, Lodging, and Food" tab for more info!
What about transportation? Do we need a rental car?
Please see the "Travel, Lodging, and Food" tab for more info!
What kinds of fun things are there to do in the area?
The list is literally endless, but here please see the "Things To Do" tab for more info!
- Downtown St. Pete has amazing shops, food, nightlife, sports, 14 microbreweries, a pier that goes 1/2 mile out into Tampa Bay, and much much more.
- The Dali Museum is the largest collection of Dali's work in the world, and they are just opening a new $38 million expansion.
- Sunken Gardens is a great place to walk among hundreds of tropical plants and flowers, easy to walk and explore.
- There are numerous fishing and boating options everywhere.
- The beaches are spectacular! Clearwater wins Best Beach in the US every year, and it's a couple miles north of the venue, but the beaches all along St. Pete are exactly the same and far less crowded.
- Tarpon Springs has the biggest Greek sponge diving community in the world outside of Greece, and is always fun to go see.
- The Chihuly Museum is fantastic, displaying gorgeous works of glass art.
- John's Pass has a number of bars, restaurants, and shops along the water and is a popular tourist destination.
What should we expect for the weather?
The average high temp in October is 81 degrees, and the average low is 71 degrees. It also only rains on four days in October normally, so shorts and t-shirts are the name of the game down here, although a very light long-sleeve shirt or windbreaker is often advisable out near the beach. There should be very low humidity, and hurricane season will be basically over (not that they hit St. Pete anyway; they haven't had a CAT3 or higher here in over 30 years).
