Can you picture a first date where your mom is the chauffeur? Jack and Helen met in Marietta, GA, when her brother—also named Jack—and Jack were teammates on the same baseball team, sometime around the age of 12, give or take. The “Double Jacks” became good friends and our families began to spend time together both on and off the baseball field. Through the many Jones-Waterman family dinners and baseball games, Jack and Helen became friends. Soon came high school days and we started meeting up at lunch and hanging out more. Eventually, the friendship blossomed into romance when Jack invited Helen to watch a Boston Bruins Stanley Cup playoff game at his house. Helen wasn’t old enough to drive herself, so her mom dropped her off. There were several more “dates” where “the moms” continued to chauffeur.&nbsp; Once driver’s licenses were obtained, we started spending more time together, and our love began to blossom. The path contained proms, movies, pizza, and many sporting events. Ultimately, leading to graduation and college choices. College brought the reality of a long-distance relationship for several years, as we attended different colleges and embarked on separate career paths. Jack became an engineer and Helen a veterinarian. Despite the distance, we celebrated each other’s successes and supported one another through challenges. Despite virtual dates and infrequent in-person visits, our love continued to grow stronger.&nbsp; A new adventure began when Helen was accepted into a residency program at The Ohio State University. Jack was happy to support Helen’s dreams and move to Columbus in July 2023. As we embraced our new life in Ohio, our relationship continued to progress and grow. We love finally spending time under one roof with our beloved cat, Thomas. On October 20th, 2023, Jack decided he wanted to spend his life loving and supporting Helen. He proposed, and she happily accepted. They celebrated with their families and the planning began.&nbsp; We are thrilled to celebrate on October 4, 2025 and can’t wait to share our love with each of you! See you soon! Love,Helen and Jack
