We’re so excited to celebrate with everyone on the North Shore! Late September is one of the best times of year to visit. Whether you’re staying for the weekend or making a longer trip out of it, here are a few of our favorite ways to explore the area.

Explore Ipswich

- Visit Crane Beach for scenic beach walks, dunes, and ocean views

- Tour Castle Hill on the Crane Estate and its beautiful historic grounds

- Stroll through downtown Ipswich for local shops, cafés, and classic New England charm.

Other Coastal Towns to Visit

The North Shore is full of beautiful seaside towns that are perfect for a day of exploring.

- Newburyport: a charming waterfront town with boutiques, cafés, and a scenic harbor-side boardwalk.

- Gloucester: this town is known for beaches, coastal views, and seafood spots.

- Salem: town is especially fun in late September as the area begins its fall festivities. Explore the historic streets, waterfront, shops, and museums before the busy October crowds arrive.

- Manchester-by-the-Sea: a picturesque coastal town with quiet beaches and beautiful New England scenery.

- Rockport: a quintessential New England harbor town with galleries, shops, and stunning ocean views.

Local Orchards

If you have extra time during the weekend, we highly recommend taking advantage of New England’s fall season.

- Russell Orchards: apple picking, cider donuts, hayrides, and a quintessential North Shore fall afternoon.

- Smolak Farms: a classic local fall destination with apple picking and seasonal activities

- Connors Farm: close to the hotel and known for apple picking, hayrides, and corn mazes

- Brooksby Farm: a relaxed local favorite for orchards, fresh cider donuts, and scenic views.

We hope you enjoy a beautiful fall weekend on the North Shore and take some time to explore the area while you’re here!
